Band Leader, Lead Guitar, Vocals
Dick formed The Continentals Band in 1962 while playing for the patrons of the Officers Club at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Over the years Dick has entertained numerous people with his musical talents at both public and private events throughout the area.
Dick is a self taught musician and not only plays guitar, but also the piano. He occasionally entertains solo with piano and vocals at Residential Care Centers. Dick also sings lead on several of the Continentals songs.
After more than fifty years of entertaining Dick always looks forward to the band's next performance.
Bass Guitar, Vocals
Jack started playing bass guitar with The Continentals Band in 1972. Jack learned to play bass at a very young age and in 1954 he joined the HiFi's. He also played bass guitar with the Fun Seekers and the Four C's.
Jack is also a self taught musician and can quickly pick up any bass line or style necessary to make the sound of the Continentals a full rich sound. Jack also enjoys singing lead on several songs and provides back up vocals for numerous other songs.
After almost sixty years, Jack still enjoys the challenge of learning a new song or playing the hundreds of songs he has learned over the years.
Patti started playing piano and keyboards with The Continentals Band May 2012. Patti began studying piano while in the second grade.
Patti has played and performed for several pageants in the Hampton Roads Area as she was growing up. She grew up playing and singing Southern Gospel music with her family and has played piano, organ, and sang lead vocals for many churches. She recently played for the Global Day of Worship and is currently playing keyboards for the praise team at Western Branch Community Church. Patti sings lead on numerous songs the Continentals perform.
After playing and singing most of her life, Patti is definitely enjoying entertaining with the guys in the Band.
Marty started playing drums with The Continentals Band in the Spring of 2014. Marty began his musical career in 1964, when he started playing the drums at the age of 14. Marty also has experience as a studio session musician.
Marty is comfortable playing any type of music including rock and roll, beach music, show tunes, blues, country, and big band. Marty provides a solid drum performance that helps the band provide music that anyone can enjoy. Marty also enjoys singing lead on several songs.
After playing drums most of his life Marty never misses a chance to provide his expertise whenever someone needs a drummer.
